This year and last.
2008 was a strange year. I failed a bunch of courses thanks to stress and some medical issues, vowed never to live with noisy/messy people again, started getting B12 injections, got healthy, gained 20 pounds, started painting birds, got tattooed, went to Wasaga Beach to work as head naturalist for the park, bought a laptop, bought a cell phone, came back to Ottawa, got a drivers license, started driving lessons, did a 60km mountain bike race, got an odd job as personal assistant to a friend, sealed the deal for to rent my own home, moved out of my place on Ortona to live with my parents until the home is ready, lost the cell phone, touched drugs only a few times, got drunk only a handful of times, stayed single for the whole year, discovered some new music that I love, and saw for the first time how sick and frail my grandpa has become.
2009 plans include finishing those courses I failed and finally graduating, finishing the tattoos, moving in to my house with a greenhouse, deck, and giant wooded half-acre yard, and figuring out what to do with the summer and fall. Hopefully I will return to Wasaga, but if I can't work for Ontario Parks I'll probably start my business. I'll most likely buy a vehicle. I'd like to travel for a while in the fall. I would like to find a partner, but I feel like Ottawa isn't the place for that to happen. I've been single for a long time, but leaving city for extended periods dosen't tend to work well for dating. I'd like to promote myself more to galleries and work on making my art look more professional. I want to get straight As again.
New Years was a great, much needed party with many hilarious moments, suprises, and a rare moment of indulgence in something nice. I've become antisocial from so much time spent alone. Maybe my resolution will be to work on being more comfortable with myself, and with other people.
Anyways,
Here's to 2009 being awesome for everyone!
